CodeConverter

About the Docker Compose to Kubernetes Converter

The Docker Compose to Kubernetes Converter turns a docker-compose.yml into manifests: a Deployment per service with replicas, resource limits, probes and environment, a Service for published ports, PersistentVolumeClaims for named volumes, and a ConfigMap and Secret for environment variables (names such as PASSWORD or TOKEN go to a Secret). Compose features without a Kubernetes equivalent are reported as warnings.

How to use the Docker Compose to Kubernetes Converter

  1. Paste your docker-compose.yml.
  2. Choose a namespace, the Service type and how environment variables are handled.
  3. Click Convert to Kubernetes, review the warnings, then copy or download the manifests.

Frequently asked questions

Which Compose features are converted?

image, command and entrypoint, environment, ports and expose, named and tmpfs volumes, healthcheck (as liveness and readiness probes), deploy replicas and resource limits, user, working_dir, cap_add and cap_drop, privileged and read_only.

What is not converted?

build contexts (set an image instead), depends_on start order, links, restart policies other than always, env_file contents and relative bind mounts. Each one is reported as a warning so you can handle it deliberately.

Are my data stored when I use the Docker Compose to Kubernetes Converter?

The text you submit is processed in memory to produce the result and is not saved. Like any web server, Code Converter logs basic visit data (page, IP address and browser) but never the content you paste. Even so, use placeholder values instead of real production credentials.

Is the Docker Compose to Kubernetes Converter free, and can I call it from a script?

It is free and needs no account or signup. The same tool is available as a REST endpoint at POST /api/compose-to-k8s; see the API documentation for the fields and examples.
