Cron Expression Builder
Choose how often the job should run and fill in the relevant fields. The standard 5-field cron expression, its meaning and the next five run times are generated for you.
About the Cron Expression Builder
The Cron Expression Builder turns a schedule into a standard 5-field cron expression. Choose every N minutes, hourly, daily, weekly (pick weekdays), monthly or yearly, set the time, and get the expression, a plain-English explanation, the next five run times and, if you enter a command, a ready crontab line with % characters escaped.
How to use the Cron Expression Builder
- Choose how often the job should run.
- Fill in the interval, time, weekdays, day or month that apply, and an optional command.
- Click Build and copy the expression or crontab line.
Frequently asked questions
Which time zone do the next runs use?
The preview uses the clock of the server running this tool. Your cron daemon uses its own system time zone (or CRON_TZ where supported), so check that setting on your machine.
Why does it warn about some intervals or days?
Intervals that do not divide evenly (such as every 7 minutes) restart at the top of each hour, and days 29-31 are skipped in shorter months. The tool points these out instead of hiding them.
Are my data stored when I use the Cron Expression Builder?
The text you submit is processed in memory to produce the result and is not saved. Like any web server, Code Converter logs basic visit data (page, IP address and browser) but never the content you paste.
Is the Cron Expression Builder free, and can I call it from a script?
It is free and needs no account or signup. The same tool is available as a REST endpoint at POST /api/cron-builder; see the API documentation for the fields and examples.
