About the Kubernetes YAML Validator & Fixer

The Kubernetes YAML Validator checks one or more manifests for the mistakes that most often break kubectl apply: YAML errors and duplicate keys, a wrong or removed apiVersion, workload selectors that do not match pod labels, non-string env values, invalid ports and resource quantities, duplicate resources and risky settings. Only fixes that cannot change the meaning are applied to a corrected copy.

How to use the Kubernetes YAML Validator & Fixer

  1. Paste one or more Kubernetes manifests separated by ---.
  2. Click Validate.
  3. Review the findings and copy or download the fixed YAML if one is offered.

Frequently asked questions

Does it replace kubectl apply --dry-run?

No. It is a static check that does not know your cluster's CRDs, admission policies or quotas, so use kubectl --dry-run=server for the final word.

What does the fixer change?

Quotes numbers and booleans that must be strings, replaces a removed apiVersion when the schema is identical, and copies a missing selector from the pod template labels. Comments are not preserved in the fixed copy, so review it before applying.

Are my data stored when I use the Kubernetes YAML Validator & Fixer?

The text you submit is processed in memory to produce the result and is not saved. Like any web server, Code Converter logs basic visit data (page, IP address and browser) but never the content you paste.

Is the Kubernetes YAML Validator & Fixer free, and can I call it from a script?

It is free and needs no account or signup. The same tool is available as a REST endpoint at POST /api/k8s-validator; see the API documentation for the fields and examples.
